Hi Wendy,
No, Matthew is not being moderated, and the logs don't show
up any oversize postings or such like.
I have however set a flag which, when he sends a message,
should return a brief acknowledgement that it's been
received.
If it still doesn't appear, I'll have to take it up with
Freelists.

Friends
Matthew Curry has asked me to forward this message to the
list. Frankly, it
is all a bit too technical for me, so if any of you
understand more than I
do, perhaps you could get back to him. Also, has he been
bounced from the
list, as he says his messages aren't getting through?

Hi Wendy, for some reason I can't post to jaws-uk anymore,
I'm not sure if
the list is moderated, but my posts aren't coming up. Can
you relay this
onto the list?
I think that the issue you're having is a configuration
problem within
Internet Explorer - these are notorious difficult to track
down, especially
as people rarely tend to run just Internet Explorer 6 or 7,
but more likely
Internet Explorer with the Google toolbar and office
extensions and
FunWebProducts and whatever extra software detritus Internet
Explorer has
managed to pick up in it's travels. This is why your problem
of the site
slowing down on adding the second item to basket isn't
shared by other JAWS
users. Firefox tends to be a little more robust, and so
trying it is a good
test of where the problem lies.
This is another question of mine, Jaws doesn't seem to
append the User Agent
string in Internet Explorer or Firefox- shouldn't it do, to
help webmasters
identify how many JAWS visitors ( or other screen readers,
for that matter)
it gets?
On another matter, I think we've come to the conclusion that
a separate VI
site isn't the way to go. Headscape have run through the
Wiltshirefarmfoods.com site, seeing where adjustments to
headings etcetera
can be made, I've forwarded on everyone's suggestions to the
chief designer
also. Hopefully by Monday I'll have a list of
recommendations (with some
examples) to run past you.
Thanks
Matthew
