sorry gemma for not answering just spotted your reply. I hope you have
solved your problem by now. As for anything to do with Flash I am equally
baffled but 1 was in Internet Explorer. Regarding Toshibas I do not think
it will apply to you but some Toshibas that were XP Home for example were
treated by Jaws as if you were using XP
Pro,due to a Posh Media Centre
p Professional. I fear I am even more baffled by Vista which I have not
tried I thought Vista was to be the great "leveller but seems there 3
grades of it. I wondered if the Jaws Demo you were trying to run was the
right Version, I.e Jaws Professional or not I fear I have explained that
poorly, but since your Computer is new I would phone Toshiba support, and
of course check in the Kit you have a Recovery Cd, when I had my Toshiba
laptop cleaned off I found I had all I needed to start from scratch.. If
you got it from a local shop you should be able to ask them Finally you
could look in the Control Panel to see just what you have running. I have
just done that after reading a Post on the List today and I seem to have
things like Yahoo and an assortment of Tool bars and I do not recall
accepting any of them.. I did fight off something called Silverlight
Regards Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,
Sorry, I didn't understand all that!
I forget the model of Toshiba the machine is, but it has Vista, yes, and
it's Jaws 9 the demo we've down loaded. The error message on screen says
"Toshiba flash card failed to initialise". So I don't get what you mean
about am I sure it's a flash card. I don't actually even know what a flash
card is!

are you sure it is a Toshiba Flash card? It could be internet Explorer
some kinds of Toshiba Models in spite of being Home are treated as
Professional if they have a somewhat fancy Media Centre but wont you
have Vista?. Now that is where I am really confused as you have 3
standards of choice and of course cost. Which Demo of Jaws are you using
with which Model of Toshiba Dorothy

Hi all, I've got a brand new machine here, it's a Toshiba lap top and
it's playing up! Each time it is switched on, an error message shows on
screen which says "Toshiba flash card failed to initialise". Does that
mean anything to anyone? Then, although it's set to come on automatically
at start up, the Jaws 9 demo we've down loaded doesn't come on. If my
partner's using the machine, Jaws will kick in at some stage after a few
minutes, and just start jabbering away!
So I'm just running this by you to see if anyone's got any suggestions -
here I am with this wretched new machine which I can't use with Jaws,
very frustrating!
Thanks and best wishes
Gemma
