Hi Dorothy,
Please remember that the vast majority of users on this list, myself
included, are just ordinary users, with more or less eexperience of
JAWS; and many of us have had (and some still have) frustrations with
the product and do not need to be constantly reminded of them! Now, it
so happens that a bug such as you have uncovered may not appear until
someone discovers it. With JAWS4.51, there was a bug with Microsoft
Word XP, but only on *a few* computers, of which mine was one. Many
computers were still using Windows 98 or Millennium, only a few of them
had the bug, and none using Windows XP. Apparently, or so i was told
(by Eric Damery), this bug was discovered only when the product had
already been shipped. (It meant that I could not use JAWS4.51 with
Microsoft Word, when writing or making new Word documents.) I talked
about it on this list, at the time, and some others. (Whenever I tried
to save a document (while using JAWS4.51 with Microsoft word, I got a
kernel32 error and had to manually switch off then restart the computer
to make any progress anywhere on the puter. (Fortunately, it was fixed
for JAWS5.0, the next version in English.) I am totally blind. I also
have a hhearing impairment, which fortunately does not prevent me from
understanding JAWS speech. (There is another screen reader available
that you haven't mentioned: Window-Eyes. If you can, get hold of a
demo of that for comparison.) Technology, however high, is only
technology after all. Ray Kurzweil is still very much at work, you may
be pleased to know. (Developing a beta version of portable OCR software
that blind people may use, one day, it is hoped.)

Do not think I am being antagonistic . I come to bring information and
truth and if we are in the mood for quotes I have at time sat and wept
and
cried unto the Lord My God MyGod why hst thou hast forsakenme and almost
gone to the nearest lake taking self and computer. If I picked self up
and
fought back then it was the only way out. If I got the Directors in
America to take it was by recording the whole sorry tale not a no audio
tape
and sending it by reg. post. I alsm had though a little trump card up
my
sleeve which I will keep tomyself and a bit of arm twisting is what it
took to get the response. I am getting it out today and Darren if you
want
to kick me of the list then say so loud and clear and show your
credentials
please Ok The thing is
sometimes you haveno alternative but to fight back or go under and
somehow
you find the strength not usre how.. Comes the moment comes the man or
the
woman Ok Dorothy
