Dorothy, the simplest way to get rid of Jaws speaking the greater sign is to get the Jaws window on screen with insert + J 
Push Alt to get menu bar.
Down arrow twice to Voices.
Right arrow to open sub-menu.
Down arrow to global.
Then tab down to the punctuation options and select  None.
That e-mail stripper is quite easy. Take the message you want to strip. Highlight it all with ctrl+A. Cut with ctrl + X Paste it into the stripper, let it do its job, then cut and paste back where it came from, or wherever else you want it.

I would like never again to hear the Greater sign, it spoils every forward, and as for the download from White Stick Tiddy told me about, I did get it but he did not tell me how to use it.
