It's a bit off topic I know but it's Christmas so I suppose it's alright.
Victor Borge was the pianist who developed a way of expressing punctuation by certain sounds. It wass only a joke of course but that's what he did.
The other fella you are thinking of is Gerard Hoffman who also told the story about the barrel of bricks and the pulley.
