[jaws-uk] Re: Converting non umiform tables into text

Hi Jamie,
I look forward to trying this out in connection with an Itallian grammar
book which was sent to me in .PDF format. Every time I hear Jaws say
"Non-uniform table" my heart sinks. In a big table you soon lose track of
which English phrase coincides with which group of Italian words. Whenever
one of the languages spills over to a second line in the column, you're in
trouble big-style.

Cheers

Colin

Marie,

If you take your document into Microsoft Word (if it's not there already).
Go to the Table menu and then to the "Convert" option. From the sub menu,
select the "Table to Text" option. Once in the dialogue box, tab round and
make the appropriate selections for your preferences and then go to the OK
button.

This should strip out the table but I'm not sure of the results you'll get.

See how you get on - you can always use the UNDO command to reverse the
procedure if it makes more of a mess than a benefit!

Good luck.

Jamie

Hi all,
Just received the update for the channel numbers from my digital tv
provider.
They've changed all the numbers.
Thought scanning the print would solve my problems and end my frustrations.
All I hear from jfw after scanning and ocring the document with Fine Reader
is: non-uniform table and I can't make much sense of anything.
Is there a way of converting tables to text? I opted to removed all
formatting, no difference, kept font size, not any better, chose to ignore
pictures of course but not sure what to try next.
Any idea anyone?
Thank you in advance,

Marie
