thanks Johnny, seems I got the wrong David, only just spotted his Email address, actually the advice I gave was important and I do hope many on this list, maybe alone and not to pompous will have listened, I have in the last year myself been cut off 3 times by Utility companies, in this case a few minutes away a few people, mainly alone will have to wait for over a week in all, the Tarmac company has to come and take up the Road, the other company who are appointed by the first to mend the severed cables, neither can admit liability, no doubt for the reasons I mentioned. I think you're being a bit harsh on Dorothy. Of course it's a JAWS list, but who really cares if people go off topic now and again. I think you shouldn't be so childish or mean spirited as to threaten to leave the list if someone dares to speak about something other than JAWS. Be nice

are you the same David who told us about your  powersurge and Guilford
Power supply? if so you should understand then  since they  have no
phones only Mobiles and will be by the end of this week without any
internet connection and as you know it can happen to you, I only hope 
you did get compensation that you were seeking, many Vi's work from
home, after I spoke to the company I did remember how awful it can be to 
be alone and cut off, I also  got to  wondering why both companies are
disclaiming responsibility. I then remembered that so far as Insurance 
is concerned you are supposed never to admit liability, Policies are
drafted this way.  anyway I noted even if you were  cut off you did
manage to use Jaws and many may not be as clever as you are  in being
able to  do that if all communications are severed. you are  lucky I
