[jaws-uk] Re: BUYING AN EARLIER VERSION

Hi Mervyn

I do have separat serial number as I did not upgraded and have bought as a
new application.

I understand that you have to give serial number when ringing for support as I have done it many times. Also I think you misunderstood it, as I meant that to give my name informing that it is bought it from me when speaking to sight & sound.

Rashmi

Since this is a public list I would suggest that your remarks are a
little unwise. I would point out that, unless your JAWS 4.5 and JAWS 8
serial numbers are not the same, you are not in a position to sell
version 4.5 and keep using version 8 since they relate to the same
single-user licence.

Whilst it gives me no satisfaction to bring this to your attention, your
original message advocates breaking the licence conditions of the
software and I'm afraid this would constitute an illegal activity
whether it be related to JAWS or any other licensed software.

Regards
Mervyn

Wendy

I do have jaws 4.5 to sale it as currently I am using jaws 8. latest. I
am willing to forward original jaws software disks together with the
lience disk. I think FS does not need to know and when requiring
support, could always do it by giving serial number or even I do not
mind if needs to give person's name i.e. mine. Please let me know if
your friend would like follow up suggested obtion.

Subject: [jaws-uk] BUYING AN EARLIER VERSION

Friends

A friend of mine has a computer which is about three years old, and so
far
she has been using Lookout as her screenreader. She is trying to save
her
pennies to buy JAWS, but I am concerned that if she buys version 8 it
will
not be compatible with her system and might cause her more problems.
She
is
not very technically minded, and finds getting to grips with computer
problems very annoying.

I am wondering whether it is possible to buy earlier versions of JAWS,
either from one of the UK dealers or second-hand from someone who has
upgraded to a higher version. If the latter, what does she need to do
to
transfer ownership to herself? Knowing her system, I think version 6
would
be best.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Wendy
