Hi Graham, In fairness to BT as an ISP, a great deal depends on the quality of the lines and how far you are from the exchange. Regardless of who your ISP is, unless you are on cable, the phone lines between exchange and your house belong to BT. On just that point, I was calling my own ISP bad names at home for the lines constantly dropping. In the end, we called out BT who renewed the connection at the point BT's cable enters the house. It's been fine ever since. George. -----Original Message----- From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Graham Page Sent: 25 November 2006 15:33 To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: BT Broadband Problems I don't have #BT broadband but have recently been training someone in Bognor=20 Regis who has. During this time I regularly noticed that the connection=20 dropped and quite often mail could not be retreived. I have notice this before with BT in the past and I am disappointed to see=20 no improvement there. Wouldn't touch BT internet for this reason. If so, have you experienced a drop in quality of service recently? I'm getting too often the message "Can not find Server" and pages that do load take far longer than they should. Is this happening to anyone else? If so, does anyone know why? I was also wondering, are there any maintenance things that should be done when using a wireless router as when you run clean-up, defrag etc on the PC? I've done all of these on the computer, including Scan Disc and all is still the same. Would be grateful for any help/advice offered.
