[jaws-uk] Re: Adding inflections to Text.

Hazel,

Here's the content of a message I put out on another list recently on the same
subject:

Below is one way you can do this in Word 97. In each case, press the keystroke
followed by the letter you want the accent on. Nothing happens after the first
keystroke, and you have to press the letter immediately afterwards to get the
accented character.

The following work in Word 97:
Control + grave (the key above the Tab key), a, e, i, o, u for à, è, ì, ò, ù.
Control + apostrophe, a, e, i, o, u, y for á, é, í, ó, ú, ý.
Control + Shift + 6, a, e, i, o, u for â, ê, î, ô, û.
Control + Shift + tilde, a, n, o for ã, ñ, õ.
Control + Shift + SemiColon, a, e, i, o, u, y for ä, ë, ï, ö, ü, ÿ.
Control + Shift + apostrophe, a for å.
Control + Shift + 7, a for æ.
Control + Shift + 7, o for œ.
Control + comma, c for ç.
Control + apostrophe, d for ð.
Control + forward slash, o for ø.
Control + Shift + 7, s for ß.
Alt + Control + Shift + 6, s for š

Since I posted that message I have tested the keystrokes in Word 2003 and they
all still work.

Steve

Subject: [jaws-uk] Adding inflections to Text.

Hi There,
I am trying to find out how to add accents /inflections into text. It would be
a great advantage to me if I knew the shortcut keys which are used to put acute
signs and umlauts into text.

Any help and pointers on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
