[jaws-uk] Re: Acer 5920 and vista.

Jim

I am using an Acer. It's not the same model as yours, but it is running Windows
Vista. To get the battery status I press Windows key to go to the Start Menu.
Then Escape. Then I press TAB I think two or three times to get to the System
Tray. Using the Up/Down Arrows I can find the battery status.

Hallo Jim, I do not have an Acer but you no doubt have a printed manual, I
know scanning it takes a long time since it maybe in different languages but
it will be in there somewhere I asked a friend to take my booklet home and
record it onto an audio tape in my case the volume kept muting, actually it
turned out to be a flaw and Toshiba sent me a patch raising sound if you cannot
see and accidentally mute it can be hard, does your Acer behave in that
respect? I am changing the topic a little bit but if you lost all sound of
course even Narrator is of no use how would you fix it Thanks Dorothy Ps I hope
this arrives in a readable state not chopped about at the Encarta end

    Hi Phil,

I tried that key combination, it says battery status not found. Any other
suggestions from acer users or do you have any other suggestions Phil?

    Jim.

      Hi Jim,

The normal keystroke for checking the battery status is JawsKey+shift+b.

I don't use Vista but I shouldn't think it is any different from XP.

        Hi list,

Does anyone know if one can check the battery status on the above
laptop using Jaws 9? I'm told it's on the screen in a toolbar, but tabbing
doesn't get me to the toolbar. Hope someone can help.

        Jim.
