Subject: [jaws-uk] AVG 7 scheduling updates & scans.
Hi all, and the usual apologies for the cross posting.
I can't remember where I saw it, but recently people were talking about
how you couldn't schedule AVG7 to run it's full test unless you had the
professional, non free version. Well, maybe I've got the gist of that
wrong, but you can schedule AVG 7 for your updates manager and also when
you want it to perform your full system scan. It doesn't have to be at 8
am every morning.
When you load up the AVG Control centre, I used the jfw cursor to the
bottom of the page where it has a "Test scheduler button"
Hit space bar on this and you land in a dialogue box, and it should be
telling you about your scheduled update time. Tab along to "edit
schedule..." and hit enter, and you can tab through this and set your
AVG to go look for updates in a selection of 2 hour slots.
Going back to the beginning of this dialogue, where it says update
schedule, 2 of 2, you can up arrow to "test plan" 1 of 2, then tab to
Edit schedule again, and in here you can set your AVG to run a full or
part system scan test at hourly intervals of your choice.
Save all your settings on exit, and bingo.
Hope I ain't told all you grannies how to suck those eggs?
Kind regards,
Robin Clayden, Switchboard.
