I use Messenger Lite on an Iyonix. I take it from your message
that you are using a router - I am too, so maybe our set ups are
sufficiently similar for me to be of assistance.

In the site settings dialogue for Messenger Lite "Host name"
is often your user name for your ISP account. If your email
address were bonaparte@xxxxxxxxxxx then bonaparte.republic.fr
would be likely to be your hostname. Ditto for "Mail domain".
Put anything for "Organization". I put "Home", but I guess
"Intangibles Inc" would do too. I have "POPstar" for mail
transport and "NewsHound" for news transport. The "mail gateway"
field is important. Enter the hostname for your ISP's
SMTP server - this is the server that handles the mail that you
send out. The server for the incoming mail is usually the POP3
server. You find out their hostnames from your ISP's connection
settings webpage. The two remaining buttons "Post news via a
mail to news gateway" and "Handle local mail internally" I leave
blank.

When you click the "Setup..." button for POPstar you need to fill
in the POPStar configuration file. In the #SMTP Server line put
the SMTP server hostname (see above). All the rest I have left as
default.

In my boot up sequence I put !POPstar, !Messenger and !NewsHound
in Resources:$.Apps so they get filer_booted and are in easy reach.
You need a copy of !NewsDir in $.!Boot.Resources. It holds the
mail/news that is in the pipeline.

Good luck
