This highlights one of the problems of a backup strategy, the easy methods
like a removable drive left plugged in most of the time only protects
against a few data loss scenarios:-(

An NAS device say in another room covers more scenarios.

A local removable drive needs to be exchanged every day (or week depending
on criticality) for one that either goes off site or into a fire safe.
