I'm hoping they are able to transfer at the full 480Mb/sec!

What are the realistic achievable tranfer rates of USB2 compared with a
100baseT network?

The other nice thing about the NSLU2 is that it uses an X/Scale IOP
processor (The same family as the Iyonix) one customer told me:

* I just wanted to point out that it appears to be possible to
* set up the NLSU2 unit under RISC OS - you do not need a PC on the network.

* It's also possible to enable an FTP server, which is disabled by default,
* allowing access from RISC OS even to those who do not have LanMan98.

* It's amazing to think that this little device has as much processor power
* as the Iyonix (it uses an XScale IOP processor just like the Iyonix). The
* only thing that stops it being a proper computer is the absence of a
* graphics card!

* If you do a Google search for "NSLU2 SlugOs" you will find that there is
* quite a community of people adding other stuff like webservers and database
* engines to their NSLU2s -- as it runs Linux there is quite a lot of server
* software out there.
