It might be if I started a backup running overnight and that hadn't
finished by the time I wanted to start work in the morning!

It was someone else who pointed out that a NAS unit might be preferable
to a USB device, because of speed of transfer.  It just seems a shame to
go to NAS and find that you're still constrained by a USB connection!
