I too have had a problem with the USB side of things with Keyboards
and mice.
Ive tried different sockets front & back & side and basically found
that the keyboard in one of the back USB sockets would differ. The
would light up when the machine is switched on and if I press any of
the function keys for media, browser etc they would work.
Only the keyboard was plugged in at this point.
If I then shutdown the machine and plugged in the mouse into the other
back USB socket, I needed USBKick to get the keyboard going.
The mouse always lights up in an instant as soon as the machine is
switched on.
If I switched the two around the mouse would freeze and the keyboard
would work but none of the function keys.
I had lots of issues with the keyboard and mouse and in fact it went
back to Iyonix and it was tested and tested, and it was all a bit of a
mystery. John B did say there is still some issues with some devices.
I basically had to use USBKick to get the keyboard going and to get
the keyboard function keys going.
No settings had been changed with HID but it was a bit of a hit and
miss with those two devices.
I later bought a powered USB Hub and plugged that into the back USB
socket which the keyboard worked fully without any other devices.
The mouse and 2 other things are connected to this hub and I
havent had any problems and infact I dont need to use USBKick.
But John you are not alone !
Another local Iyonix user has got similar problems with his wives
Iyonix. After switching it on she has to unplug the mouse back in and
it then works.
Im using 5.13 and original supplied keyboard and 3D optical mouse
from Iyonix.
Regards.
