*h.verify
==> Help on keyword Verify
*Verify checks the whole disc is readable.
The default is the current disc.
Syntax: *Verify [<disc spec.>]

*verify 5
File 'verify' not found

*verify ADFS::HardDisc4
File 'verify' not found

*Verify 4
File 'Verify' not found

This is a copy of a Task window input & response. Is this normal?
Do other people get the same "File 'verify' not found" ?
The system recognises it as a command but cannot execute it?

How does one otherwise verify a harddisc?

Using RISC OS 5.16 (18 Jan 2010)
