not really

soft start(!) is a 2 nand gate cmos set reset flipflip feeding the poweron lead of the power supply. it uses software logic 0 to turn off, and hard contact to gnd via the power on push button to turn on

It seems to keep coming back to the PSU: why, if power is on, does

I will be interested too. I have an old laptop which exhibited similar
symptoms: would shut down mysteriously and not restart with soft switch.
Whether battery or mains, whether shut down manually or not.

Is there a way to bypass the soft start circuit altogether in an Iyonix
by [bre|m]aking a link somewhere?
