[iyonix-support] USB port access

Hi,

I'm using Ian Hamiltons !MFPxEpson application with my Epson CX3200
multifunction printer. All is working well but I need to share this
printer with my wife's and another PC.

I have purchased a Belkin 4 x 1 Peripheral Switch, which the printer
will be plugged into along with all accessing PC's.

I installed the USB switching software onto a PC.

On initial power-up the Iyonix had focus on the switch and was able to
scan and print, which is what I had expected. I right-clicked on the
red icon on the PC (red means another computer is using the device)
and selected "switch" from the menu. The PC now had focus, the icon
went green (current computer has access), the "switch" option was
greyed out and I could scan and print from the PC.

So far, so good.

The manual says using either the method above or Ctrl-F11 (PC) or
Alt-F11 (Mac) you should be able to force a switch. I tried Ctrl-F11
on the PC and it worked, but whatever I try on the Iyonix it doesn't
get focus on the printer unless you unplug both USB leads and plug the
Iyonix in first.

Obviously I need a software application to give the Iyonix focus on
the printer and wondered if there was a documented way of accessing
the USB ports, pushing the equivalent of Alt-F11 or Ctrl-F11 to them.

Regards,

Bryan Page
