As you failed to supply the information, I guess MKDOSDisc [1] is from
<URL:http://oldcoaster.drobe.co.uk> and <x>=&A02001 and you are using as
documented at
<URLhttp://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.acorn.hardware/browse_thread/thread/7fa25f43f9202b1b/915fcf090bd19d2e#915fcf090bd19d2e>
(possibly even still using MassFS in the command-line, but this appears to
make no difference to the error given). The failure may be connected with
<URLhttp://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.acorn.apps/browse_thread/thread/b26a859aa6eeef4>
I also guess that your query is related to
<URL:http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.acorn.hardware/browse_thread/thread/2edb89598798632e>
and Ambiguous disc name with DOS formatted USB sticks. From that thread, it
seems you would be best served transferring files from RiscPC<->Iyonix by
using a FileCore format stick (achieved using SCSIForm, if networking them
and using ShareFS is not an option) and to use MkDosDisc on the RiscPC to
format as FAT for use on a PC elsewhere (or format on such a PC as you are
going to use).
OTOH, you can store up to 6GB worth of data via your gmail.com account so
you could transfer files that way (inside zip files, if necessary). You may
have some success with mkdosfs via Richard Spencer - see
<URL:http://drobe.co.uk/riscos/artifact1334.html>. I tried it when it was
being tested but cannot recall if I had any success with it and am not going
to spend time trying it out again for no benefit to myself.
In summary; what problem are you trying to solve and what solutions do you
not want to consider?
