Only a fraction. However as the man who has it in stock mentioned it is
an old price and I am sure he will be able to beat it ;-). And as John
Ballance mentioned only a certain type seems to work and this is not a very
popular one, so you can't compare the price I paid for a non working 1GB
regular PC RAM and a tested working 1GB special RAM. So you must take into
account a much higher price as for an ordinary PC RAM and 1GB RAMs are still
having their price. However going from PC shop to PC shop costs time and you
have to add some hours for testing all the software whether the RAM is
working stable. So a tested product saves you a lot of frustration and time.

For I am living in Germany I try to buy Hardware from dealers as close as
possible. It can always happen that something gets broken and you are forced
to get a replacement soon or have to return the part to the dealer.

I agree 512 MB are enough. I wanted to buy 512 MB but I didn't get it at the
first attempt. For people like me which got an Iyonix with 128 or 256 MB RAM
and which are sometimes finding this not enough should think about upgrading
now. It seems that the production of such chips is reducing. The 512 MB costs
me only 1/3 of the 1GB RAM. Ok I am still hoping that new ARM based RISC OS
hardware will be available within one year, so perhaps you can save the
money.

Best Regards
