Ooops. Yes, I should have perhaps said that I do have USB 2 installed on
the Iyonix. I think this might make a difference, because I bought an 80GB
external USB hard drive a few months ago and it kept crashing about 400
files through a hard disc backup (ie. copying files off the Iyonix onto the
external drive).

Since upgrading to USB2, I've never had this problem again, so I assumed it
was something to do with USB1 not being able to keep up with the speed of
the external device or something?
