I have the Sony Erik w800i and thought it to was USB friendly with the
Iyonix as I saved many music files to it. But when I half-filled its
512Mb memory stick with 100+ holiday photos and tried to suck them off
with USB (1). There was a crash eight photos in and this seems to have
corrupted the stick/phone somehow and even windows XP can't read the
stick directly or with USB via the phone. At one time the phone reported
no pictures (panic!) but switching the w800i off and on made them
magically re-appear (phew!). The only way to transfer the files was with
Bluetooth to a peesea which seems about as quick as a dial-up modem..

I find it a trifle worrying that reading files from a device can lead to
corruption. I wonder if castle's USB 2 would fare better? Is it worth the
expense?
