(Coming in late to the discussion, on return from holiday...)

This is arranged in the HID configuration... "Run module before desktop". By
removing it without using the config tool, make sure you are still indeed
running !HID at all! By not loading in Predesk you must effectively be
running the module after the desktop. And yes, we found it makes a
difference; but not a cure.

Checked that out months ago...

I hope this /has/ worked for you John (Devine) but it is hard to be certain
because the effects are intermittent, IME.

The /combination/ of HID and AemulorPro is a strong suspect in /part/ of the
problem, but not all. JB was able to fix one particularly regular bad
behaver by changing the PSU, IIRC. It is certainly a PITA, and I suffer it
every night, when on average 2 or 3 of our fleet of Iyos fail to complete a
shutdown, so I have to stop my 'round', reset the offender, wait for a
reboot, and then try to repeat the shutdown. Then I can move on to the next
classroom... A job that should take a few minutes ends up taking much longer.

A related matter is that occasionally the Ctrl-shift-F12 shortcut fails to
operate. Usually using the menu instead will usually reactivate the
shutdown, but not always. I think this must be down to a rogue application,
but I've no way of finding which one.
