[iyonix-support] Re: Resolver not working

Let's step back a bit. There has been a flurry of posts about DNS
problems. However, the pc and RiscPC both work fine resolving
addresses. Therefore it is specific to the Iyonix. The Iyonix
networking appears ok as such, since you can ping by address and
presumably load web sites by address. Do you use ShareFS, and does it
work fine?

It looks like it is the resolver module on the Iyonix that is getting
in a twist.

What version is your Resolver module? Mine is 0.69, in the 5.16 ROM.
I assume you are setting the network up manually, rather than by
using the router as a DHCP server. Why should the resolver module not
be talking to the DNS servers? I notice from your Inet$ variables
that your netmask is set to default. Does that correspond to that
needed for your LAN?

The other thing is that the variable Inet$SMTPserver does not seem to
be set. This may be why you cannot connect to a mail server.
