Thank you again Steve.
I don't know if you have received my email direct to ROOL and marked
FAO yourself which I sent yesterday, but if so you can ignore that as
thanks to Andrew at CJE Micros I am now able to use my Iyonix again.

What happened was:
I created an Obey file called !Run containing just your line and put
it in !Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk.SoftLoad. First I added nothing else
and rebooted the machine. As I expected it came back still running
5.13, but I was just checking. Next I only added go514 into SoftLoad
and again rebooted. Again back to 5.13. So far so good, no problems,
so now I felt safe enough to add 514, (&FE5) and SoftLoad (Absolute)
into the directory called SoftLoad in PreDesk. Again I rebooted. Bad
news! The boot sequence commenced, displayed the ADFS, memory, etc.
details in white text on black then moved on to displaying a blank
black screen - and nothing further. Repeated reboot attempts just got
the same result. Pressing the blue button next to the green and orange
LEDs on the front of the Iyonix was ignored.

I then turned to my Orpheus webmail on my WindowsPC and tried to
access this mailing list. Unfortunately, because in MessengerPro the
password details are permanently set up I never see it and now had no
idea what it might be access in via a browser. I next tried to
re-subscribe but it rejected that, saying I was already subscribed!
Hence the direct email to you I mentioned above.

Today I 'phoned CJE and Andrew advised me to repeatedly press ESC
during the boot process to interrupt it and get access to a
rudimentary desktop. (I didn't know you could do that otherwise I
could have tried it straight away!).

Having done that I was able to remove the entire SoftLoad directory
from PreDesk and successfully reboot into 5.13.

So now I am back where I started. Using 5.13 and with a CD of 5.14
that I can't appear to use. What am I doing wrong please?
