I've prepared some further notes to e-mail to Xavier for this evening, but
explained that I don't use DHCP as I have older RISC OS machines on the
network which can't use it. Thus I'm unaware of the details you give of
what to leave in and what to leave out.

I think there are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches - but
perhaps using DHCP may get him up-and-running quicker.

If he goes that way, I'll arrange to add what he did to my Livebox notes.

BTW - this title was really just for e-mail to bypass my filter. Probably
best to continue on the original thread 'Network card issue' (even though
it isn't!).
