[iyonix-support] Problems with display

Early Iyonix 5.11
Monitor XEROX XM7 22w as supplied by Castle 
Driver as supplied by Castle
 Resolution 1680x1050 60Hz

2port KVM switch

Today I have noticed that my display is showing what looks like a
distortion one used to get with old TVs.

This consists of a streaking of image to the right side of images displayed.
e.g. the top bar of (say) the MPro window is shadowed by a light strip, the
lines of text have a dark strip...

On the current Zap screen the white on black text gives rise to light
streaks. 

This behaviour is repeated no matter what window I have open.

First occurence was after leaving the machines on for some time un attended.
When I came back and the display came back on there it was. I switched
off the monitor and let it rest for 5 minutes and switched on again. Still
there. I shutdown for five minutesa nd reboooted and the problem had gone.

Having shut down a couple of hours ago I returned and rebooted and the effect
was back with a vengeance.

The other check I have been able to do is switch the resolution

1280 x 1024 shows streaks

1024 x 768 75 Hz shows streaks

800 x 600 75Hz no streaks visible

640 x 480 75Hz no streaks visible

Display shows no such problems when connected to the other side. (Windows
XP)

Is this likely to be a video card problem?

If so: What next?
