[iyonix-support] Problems with attaching JPEGS

Something odd is happening when I try to attach JPEGS to outgoing e-mails.
When I drop them into the Attachments Box they are given the sprite icon
instead of the JPEG icon. I discovered this recently when I tried to send a
large JPEG (a scan of a B & W photograph) and it seems that it was somehow
or other, by something or other, converted into a sprite of monstrous size.
The resulting e-mail took so long to send that it was timed out by my ISP.

I zipped the JPEG (which did little or nothing to reduce its size) and it
was sent OK. The zip file appeared in the Attachments Box with the normal
zip icon.

I have since tried to send smaller JPEGs and have had the same problem.

I can't for the life of me remember whether I had ever sent any JPEGs by
e-mail from the Iyonix before this incident and therefore whether this is
new behaviour or not.

It seems very strange.

I am sending this to both the Iyonix list and the Messenger list, being
uncertain where the problem might originate.

Any help will be appreciated.
