I get occasional similar freezes with my Iyonix, but not with WimpScroll
(which is presumably part of !HID which I do not have).

I have a theory (completely unproven, as yet!) that there is some bug in
the OS which leads to such freezes, and which tends to affect programs
which poll a lot. The task which is affected here is BookMaker, which
does a PollIdle 100 times a second (far more than any other task I
normally run).

If anyone has WimpScroll plus my TaskUsage, please let me know how often
WimpScroll polls, and what type (Idle or not).
