That may seem so but every internet enabled computer must somehow have
its DNS servers set up somewhere.

Nor does mine, so presumably not. It looks as though your set-up is using 
DHCP which I personally don't use because I found it less reliable than
manual settings.

Perhaps someone who fiddles with DHCP can help.
