A USB2 device will operate at USB1 speeds if plugged into a USB1 hub,
otherwise it should be USB2. Check the output from *USBDevices e.g. :-
*usbdevices
No. Bus Dev Class Description
1 1 1 9/ 0 NEC OHCI Root Hub
4 2 1 9/ 0 NEC OHCI Root Hub
7 3* 1 9/ 0 EHCI root hub *
8 1 2 0/ 0 Chicony USB Keyboard
9 2 2 0/ 0 Belkin Components Product ID 0002
11 2 3 0/ 0 Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse
13 3* 2 0/ 0 EPSON USB2.0 MFP(Hi-Speed) *
Any device which shares the bus number of the EHCI root hub is running as
USB2 (bus 3 in this example). If the EHCI root hub is missing then USB2
isn't running on your machine.

Ian
