What we're thinking about doing is having a page (or pages) listing all of
the components separately. You'll be able to use this to download an archive
of a given version of just that component and read the log file saying what
changed in that version.

We'll try to put all (post source release) versions up on the site so you
can see what has changed per component and get at the version you want.
Then, we'll add a mechanism for people to vote on whether they think a given
version of a component is 'stable'. The more people who vote for something,
the more confident you can be of it.

Also, we could have a link to specific information about how to install that
component and any other notes about it (e.g. dependencies).

This (as you can imagine) is a vast amount of work. I expect it will just be
a load of wiki pages, linking to stuff like our cvs web front end or
something. I'd also expect a lot of input from the users out there in order
to make the thing actually useful.
