That would be excellent. However, it probably wouldn't solve the 
!QFiler problem. Might there be a work-round for this? If I understand 
correctly, this would be unlikely.

Alternatively, is there a way to soft-load 5.14 at start-up by 
default? As the ROM gets copied into RAM (I think), perhaps this would 
be possible, but I'd need guidance from someone who has a lot more 
knowledge than I have. I know I could burn 5.14, but I find this whole 
process to be scary, particularly as I don't currently have a working 
UPS.
