then checking behaviour without using the disc software ..
lots of escapes whilst booting, before the screen lights up .. most times it'll get you to desktop without running !boot on the hdd 


run Resources:$.Resources.Internet.!Boot
then do dhcpe.ek0 at the f12 command line .. do you get an abort .. if not .. then it is dependant on disc load

I bougth an Iyonix from the "4D" departement of "CJE Micros".
It works fine, but can *not* access the Internet.
Chris Evans told me, that this Iyonix is a developer system.
Look at your RiscPC's internet settings & make the Iyonix the same except for its IP address! 

Indeed I tried this out, but unfortunately without any success!


Firstly I tried out the following configuration:
Motherboard IP address via DHCP, Routing / Gateway 192.168.1.1
After the IP address seems to be found and set, I get the error message:
"Data abort at xxx", after the IP address seems to be claimed.
After this I can *not* get any access to my router or the internet.
No, leave the Routing/Gateway *blank* (empty, that is). This is set up for you when you use DHCP. It should all work fine then. 

I tried this out, but this does *not* work too! After the Iyonix has
asked the IP address with DHCP from my router, I get the error message
"data abort"! I found out, that the bug must be in the internet module.
Therefore I tried to type in the IP addresses manually, as I did on my
RiscPC, where it works fine even without DHCP.
I presume you did set the primary name server address to the router address as well? 
Yes I thought that it was a dns problem but I believe he has tried using
both the routers IP address and his ISP DNServer address.

I also asked Niklaud to try entering 194.93.128.70 in his url bar
(the number is onepointnought server (drobe) but that times out also!

n.b. As Niklaus is in Switzerland I wasn't sure if my usual test of
212.58.224.81 which I had as bbc.net would work but that has stopped
working anyway, though I see 212.58.253.70 works as bbc.net.uk?


I use the Domain Name Server IP addresses, that my Internet Service
Provider told me. They work fine with my RiscPC! This proves, that
the "bug" is *not* in the DNSes, but very likely in my Iyonix!

I just pinged to 212.58.224.81 and 212.58.253.70 from the RiscPC!
The first one gave *no* reply, but the second one replies immediately.
