[iyonix-support] My Iyonix can not access the Internet!

Hello there

I bougth an Iyonix from the "4D" departement of "CJE Micros".
It works fine, but can *not* access the Internet.
Chris Evans told me, that this Iyonix is a developer system.

The only thing, that does *not* work on my Iyonix, is the Internet access.
I can configure the computer in all possible variants - I get time outs!
The Iyonix works fine together with my RiscPC, and I can share the drives.

My Iyonix has still RISC OS 5.11 and an old graphics card.
For the Internet access I have an ADSL router "Zyxel P600 ME",
that works fine together with my RiscPC and the ANT Internet Suite,
but *not* with my Iyonix. The router can act as a DHCP server.
Its own IP address is 192.168.1.1; for the other devices it starts with
the address 192.168.1.2 and upwards. It is connected only to one machine.
(I do *not* yet own any ethernet switches or hubs, so that I can connect
together only the Iyonix and the RiscPC or the Iyonix and the router or
the RiscPC and th router at the same time.)

Firstly I tried out the following configuration:

Motherboard IP address via DHCP, Routing / Gateway 192.168.1.1
After the IP address seems to be found and set, I get the error message:
"Data abort at xxx", after the IP address seems to be claimed.
After this I can *not* get any access to my router or the internet.

I used the utility "where", that told me the following things:

*where
Address FC2F0DF0 is at offset 0000AC54 in module Internet

*help internet
==> Helo for the keyword "Internet":
The module is: Internet 5.50 (18 Feb 2005)

*dhcpinfo
DHCP 0.21 (05 Aug 2004)

Interface : ek0
State : INIT
Retry @ Mon Aug 10 10:39:53 2009

*inetinfo
Resource Usage:

Sockets
  Active 4

Packet forwarding not in operation

Secondly I tried out the configuration described below:

Motherboard IP address manually set to 192.168.1.2; routing through
192.168.1.1, netmask 255.255.255.248 (and 255.255.255.0).

With this configuration I at leat get *no* error message after the start.

With both configurations and all possible variations I get only time out
messages, when I try to access the router or the internet with "NetSurf".
