I have used !MakeModes to create a working MDF for my ViewSonic
VG1930wm wide screen monitor and the display is fantastic.

It took a bit of fiddling. I wasn't sure of the Monitor type - I left
it at 4, DPMS state seemed that the default was 0 (what does DPMS
mean?) Line rates and Frame rates came straight from the specs
ViewSonic provided in their documentation so that was easy.

The !Makemodes doesn't provide a 1440 x 900
display as recommended for the 19". (I noticed some other branded 19"
monitors also make this resolution recommended as optimum although
other displays that are included in the ViewSonic recommendations are
included in !Makemodes.) I played around with Mode Maker to get a 1440
x 900. What screen RAM does an Iyonix have?
I tested the results by trial and error and finally had a screen
resolution that appears perfect.

Finally I deleted all the modes that weren't recommended by the
ViewSonic documentation. I wondered later if this would be a problem
for programs such as BBC emulators - do they use some of these other
strange modes?

Anyway here is the result....

I hope this may be of some use to somebody.
Thanks to all who provided suggestions and help.

Has anyone come up with an answer to a place for uploading MDFs for
the Iyonix? Castle?
