There is a KVM switch linking the 2 machines togther, it's not a mains 
powered one, however if this was the problem (which it could be for 
all I know) would it be an issue every time? and would it make any 
difference if the PC was swtiched on or off ? as i've had the same 
problems with the PC on and off.
