Also possibly useful is EKlog, which shows logged messages. Mine shows ...

EtherK has logged 3 messages for unit 0.
  09:07:10 27-Oct-2008: Initialising device
  09:07:10 27-Oct-2008: Device initialised successfully
  09:07:12 27-Oct-2008: Link is up 100 Mbps Full Duplex
