Correct.

Sometimes the Iyonix freezes completely, sometimes its network interface
becomes unusable but the machine can still be used. Sometimes it behaves
like the other machines.

Time out and then report they can't lookup the hostname or can't connect
to the host.

They will still be able to ping each other and the router, sometimes
even the modem if that hasn't started to rebuild the connection yet (it
can take several minutes before the modem realises the CMTS has dropped
the connection).

Oddly enough the connection is now nearing 48 hours of uninterrupted
uptime. It's really starting to look like the ISP has fixed things at
their end.
