I just download a large appication from a fast site. My benchmark is
usually Firefox (the 'dark side' version) because they've got a pretty fast
site and it tends to download at max speed.

An Iyonix can easily max out the fastest of broadband speeds. Even a
bog-standard Risc PC with 10baseT card can. The bottleneck is the broadband
connection, not the computer.

I regularly get download speeds of around 350Kbps which equates to roughly
3.5M download speed, which is not bad considering BT told me the max I
could get on my phone line was 2M.

Don't forget that AFAICT all current ADSL routers only have 10/100 switches
in them. I've not see a broadband router with a Giga switch in it, although
they're probably expensive if you can get them, so you're not really
getting any advantage on an Iyonix to a PC or Mac anyway.
