350kb/s was the maximum download for a zip file. However the speed
tester at http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/ came in at 6282kb/s, a good
result relative to the sync speed. It is not clear how to really
interpret these results. Actual internet activity goes at the speed of
the slowest part of the path. Clearly my broadband link can be fully
exploited as the broadband tester shows but that seems to be the only
thing that does. My impression is that a sync speed above 4000kb/s is of
no practical advantage, here that is. That impression will be undone if
I see a zip zipping in at over 500kb/s.

PlusNet have LLU'd (Local Loop Unbundled) me to Tiscali.
