How on earth does temperature cause a software malfunction?  There will be
a hardware failure which may affect certain program usage.  The 2 programs
complained about both used internet access - the obvious common point is
the network chip.  We know that this chip is sensitive to voltage
variations (PSU problems); it could also be sensitive to high temperatures.

As I said earlier, temperatures of that order used to cause problems with
some chips when I used to look after complex electronic equipment.
