Really. Piece of cake here, once it's all set up. At least with XP SP2.

No, because each program seems to decide where it wants to keep its own
files irrespective of any settings you may make elsewhere. 

Assuming that by default the MS software is shoving stuff in 'My
Documents' (or one of its sub-folders e.g. My Pictures) the XP location
will be something like "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents"
right click that folder in XP  and share it, then mount it from the
Iyonix if you want to, using Omni or similar.

Personally I have a second winchester in the pee sea (E:) and have a
folder in the root directory (Temp) where I save things to and then pull
them off onto the Iyonix where I can save them in my own file structure
and keep control. Some people I know have /immense/ My Documents folders
thanks to an inability to file stuff away properly.
