No - it takes several minutes to update the window on the desktop for
each deletion because of the number of files. Perhaps if there is a
wildcard command which can delete directories with a file in them (ie
the Aemular dump log), then I could have done it without writing a
program. At least with my Basic code its only taking about a second per
entry, so it will take less than 24hours to delete the 63360
directories.

I didn't realise I was running anything unusual - the monitor was
switched off, and I hadnt specifically run anything new on the machine
for a few days. Of course I realise there are a lot of processes
churning away in the background. I have had recent problems with trying
to read some old documents in Impression Publisher, and changed the
Aemulor setup to allow it to run.
