In which case they are all valid directories and not multiple spurious ones
appearing because of a map corruption as I first suspected.

Can't you just delete from the filer?

It should be ok once the directories are deleted.

Some program you are running must be making repeated attempts to spawn
another program handled by Aemulor which is then failing. You'll juts have to
keep an eye out for it occuring again, and not what you are trying to do.
