When the problem is there, it happens with any filer window on the main
drive.  (I only tried a few, but it happened in every one I tried)

The problem occurs either when I drag it to a new directory, or when I
click OK to save it in the directory from which it was opened.

The one exception (which is why on previous occasions I didn't realise it
was a general problem) is if I drag it into the TempDir directory.  But as
I said in my original post, if I drag it into the underlying TempDir
directory, opened by the filer and not from the TempDir IconBar, then it
also fails.

There is a slight difference in the behaviour of EW and Draw, but quitting
and re-starting either doesn't clear the problem, which only goes away
after a re-boot.
