This contradicts what you wrote earlier: You wrote "Yes, there is no
beep". Now you say "No difference. [...] hi-pitched beep". So, is
there a beep with the graphics card present, too?

There is a tiny peep IMMED upon pressing the ON sw.
Graphics card in or out.
The softer 'system' beep that's missing would occur about after 12 sec (from memory) and usually accompanies the keyboard led lighting up. 
That beep is not present.
