I've found the culprit - it's Martyn Fox's otherwise excellent IClear
module (version 1.33), which somehow corrupts things when
ADJUST-clicking in writeable menu icons.  It affects Paint, Draw,
ProCAD, Organizer and possibly other apps.  I'll contact Martyn with my
evidence.
